Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce Hendersonville, TN is now Hiring a Membership Director. Under minimal supervision, the Membership Director is responsible for selling Chamber memberships to prospective non‐member businesses by communicating the benefits of the Chamber. This encompasses member sales and retention, prospecting sponsorship and advertising development and internal/external communications support for Chamber programs and events.

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $43,000 - $49,000 Base Salary with compensation plan. Bonus opportunities available based on the profitability increase over budget/exceeding budget goals.

Reports to: President/CEO

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an active member of the Chamber management team, providing necessary leadership and membership department oversight in the development of the Chamber’s strategic plan, continuous improvement process and budget.
  • Coordinate leads, business after hours, new member orientation, ribbon cuttings, and ambassador program.
  • Contact, acquire and sell new Chamber memberships.
  • Schedule appointments and personal visits with prospects.
  • Close sales during onsite visits or through follow-up phone calls/visits and written correspondence.
  • Achieve budgeted revenue goal on new memberships, city guide and app ad sales, and event sponsor revenue.
  • Actively seeks new businesses and follows up appropriately.
  • Facilitate a visitation program with existing and new businesses to increase membership, address concerns and/or ideas to encourage active participation at Chamber membership events.
  • Maintains knowledge of goals, objectives and services provided by the Chamber.
  • Coordinates annual City Guide production.
  • Remains informed of member benefits, Chamber events, etc.
  • Actively support and participate in Chamber Promote Pillar events and programs.
  • Responsible for all membership related social media content creation and promotions.
  • Manage, coordinate and promote the Visit Hendersonville App.
  • Manages membership marketing toolkit usage.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Position Type:
  • Full-Time Non Exempt (40 hours per week)
  • Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required.
Travel Requirements:
· Some local travel will be required to and from Chamber events as needed.
