Salary Range: $19 - $23 per hour. Additional bonus opportunity available based on the profitability increase over budget/exceeding budget goals.

Reports to: Operations Director

The Connect Coordinator assures efficient and effective flow membership and event procedures and provide customer service to chamber members and community at large.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attend and coordinate all Connect Events; which include, Sumner Women in Business, Sumner Men in Business, Young Professionals, Retired Professionals, Chamber University and the Monthly Chamber Luncheon.
  • Coordinate and confirm caterers and speakers for each event.
  • Handle all event aspects: reservations, assist with agendas, set up, and vendor coordination.
  • Work in conjunction with the President to secure vendors and sponsors for all events.
  • Coordinate all media correspondence before, during and after event. Press releases, commercials, media ads, etc.
  • Promote through social media all events, invite attendees and share to community groups and pages.
  • Accountable for the constant communication with event participants and volunteers.
  • Uses industry best practices to create and maintain an annual social media plan using Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn accounts.  Identifies goals for followers, likes and visits to pages and reports on outcomes quarterly.
  • Creates social media graphics, campaigns, promotions and ads for Connect Events and Chamber University Events.
  • Monitors social media channels and responds to requests/issues in a timely manner and brings any issues that could jeopardize the brand to the attention of the Chamber President.
  • Responsible for creating and sending Monday morning email and weekly Chamber newsletter.
  • Assists with Promote Pillar events.
  • Provide back-up assistance to the office staff as needed.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

 

Position Type:

  • Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required.

 Travel:

  • Some local travel will be required to and from Chamber events as needed.
  • Employees are responsible for accurately tracking, calculating and reporting travel time on their mileage sheets weekly in accordance with this policy.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Constant Contact and Canva experience preferred.
  • Social media content creation experience for business use required.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks working with volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the Hendersonville community.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate required.  Some college level courses preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative role.
